I imagine that most of you Team Fortress 2 players out there know about the new updates and weapons. There are many mixed feelings, especially on NZF (www.nzfortress.co.nz) But here are my opinions. I feel the updates, weapons and achievements are a refreshing change to the typical Team Fortress 2 gameplay. Before the update I often hear people raging about the lack of medics on pubs. Although there are now more medics, that is not always a good thing. We have useless medics, medics who, once they have obtained all the weapons, will never play medic again, medics who stand still (Boom Headshot) medics who think the have the ubersaw but actually don't who proceed on kamikaze bonesaw runs. Don't forget kamikaze syringe-gun runs.
I don't hate the update but it can be irritating when somebody ubers you when you are reloading, or extremely low on ammo. Or when there is a lack of assault classes and the team is filled with medics, engineers and snipers. But it is not all bad. It does encourage the cultivation of better medics. It adds interest and new life into the game, everybody seemed to be playing on the night the update came out. The medic can now be implemented differently in scrims, in fact it was just the other night i saw something funny. Two medics, both using the ubersaw were ubering each other. The target of the uber will build his uber by meleeing people then, when the uber runs out, the other medic will now attack. Causing a cycle of ubered medics.
Currently i have only obtained the blutslaughter. It is a fun little thing, with the ability to leech health from your opponent. But I'm looking forward to obtaining the Kritzcrieg or the ubersaw. They seem overall funner to play with. I have been half-heartedly farming the achievements and only half-heartedly because i thought that it was cheap to do so. I wanted to get them legitimately.
It seems, as a result of this update, the medic has been turned, from a support class, into a super-powerful close combat class that can take on the likes of a heavy or a soldier.

Laziness-a crippling disease
Sorry about the large gap between the first post and the second one but i have been afflicted by a crippling disease also known as laziness. Much has happened in the past three months. I have started actively scrimming after i took over as the leader of my clan "Integrated nylon complex" or "inc" The previous leader, incognito (who i know irl) had joined a different clan without my knowledge, leaving to pick up the scraps of inc and start anew. Also another key member, incombustible had also left, joining the same clan as incognito.
Before i tell you about how i turned inc into the greatest clan in the world, i must explain a few things. Before all of this happened, incognito, incombustible and I were the bestest buddies, though often struggling to find members for our homemade clan inc. Then we decided to merge with |OS| though still keeping inc in a separate niche. It was with |OS| where we played our first scrims and we had our first plunge into the world of competitive Team Fortress 2. It wasn't long after that Revenga, leader of |OS| decided to disband |OS| and expand his side project, a clan called Dinosaurs are Extinct or DAex. Incognito and incombustible proceeded to join DAex leaving poor old incinerate (me) all on his own.
I talked to incog about this and he asked me if i wanted to take over inc. I hesitated because of the amount of commitment this position would require. So I agreed and this was a hard time because it was just me and my trusty medic, incarnate whom incog had recruited a long time ago. Gingerly I posted a recruitment thread on NZFortress the New Zealand Team Fortress community. The response, although a bit slow at first, wielded explosive results. I recruited a few members from |OS|, those who I trusted would benefit the clan. Surprisingly a member of a long time running clan called [n00b] left and joined our clan. Clan membership was flourishing, even more than DAex in fact and i was happy. I assigned a co-leader, Bot xavier because i knew i wasn't going to be there the whole time.
DAex, where incog was sort of a co-leader, extended a scrim request as an opportunity to try out my new clan. The scrim was a great success and although we didn't win, we came very close. Haha i was yelling into my microphone the whole time, barking orders and warning people of spies and offensive pushes from the opposite team. The whole team didn't seem to mind as we weren't getting mowed even though it was our fist scrim. I felt i had earned the respect of my team.
The next few weeks were crazy. We scrimmed almost every night and when i wasn't there, Bot xavier would take my place, organizing a team for various scrims and matches. It was a great success. Originally i had created the clan for the 6v6 ladder. But the clan flourished and we had a team with the potential for 12v12! We even considered splitting the team into 8 man teams. (inc white and inc black)
Though the clan is a success, i feel i may not be able to lead much longer. Team Fortress 2 is taking a large stake in my life and i fear it may be a bit big for my liking.
